Thread: Chrono Series Coming to 360?

The music is pretty bad IMO as well... but Japan fucking loves it, and anyone who likes the crappy radio pop shit in America would eat it up as well. It's the exact same shit in a different language.

As for movies. That used to be true. Japanese movies were pretty bad for a long time, but in the last decade they've gotten pretty goddamn good actually.

Calling xenophobia the reason for 360's poor sales over here is foolish.

  2. What other closet racists do we have on TNL. Joust just revealed himself and Melf sounds really angry for a really stupid reason.

Just 2 more guys to check off my "black panther" invite list.

Walk into a Borders sometime and check out their manga section.

    So you agree?

If Joust is a closet racist then he's also a closet xenophobe.

The way he's talking, he's a Xenophobe. "Fuck Japan and put more money where it needs to be in the US."

  6. Huh? I'm an American. I want more and better games that appeal to ME. And if them putting money in Japanese stuff isn't helping them get support, then it's a waste. That has nothing to do with racism. Neither does stating the fact that the Japanese have a much more narrow taste in games and hardware that reeks of closed-mindedness than the West. We seem to have no problem where a game comes from. Saying "look at the [way way worse] sales of GTA in Japan" is akin to saying "I have a friend that's black". Which makes all the Japan apologists look pretty bad.

How many US gamers are the "I just play my Madden and my GTA games" types?

I remember shit tons of em when I worked at a game store.

With what? Manga is a fucking phenomenon with kids right now, and is way more culturally important than "the occasional anime".

On the subject of the actual debate, I couldn't care less.

  9. Manga is a weak counterargument. To most people they are the same thing, one you watch and one you read. Like you said walk into a borders and you'll see stacks of manga. Look behind that stack and you might see a row of anime dvd's. To most people they are just fluffly entertainment products.

Besides games and manga were are we open to japanese products that express their cultural diversity?

  10. Most people don't see mangaas fluffy entertainment products. They see them as comics for kids. But manga at any big bookstore will massively outnumber their Western comics and graphic novels.

That's what you don't understand. They're getting the children.
