I honestly can't see the casting of The Rock in any movie as a good thing, especially after making z-grade shit like Doom. He sucks.
Terence Stamp is awesome, however. I wish he's show up in more movies.
From AICN:Can't wait to see Steve Carell with a shat-his-pants look on his face in the presence of Almighty Zod.The GET SMART movie just got 100x more interesting! Kneeellllll!!!!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I've been behind this movie since I heard Steve Carell was stepping into Don Adams' radio shoes. Great bit of casting. Then Anne Hathaway joined as Agent 99. Another good piece of casting.
Now two more people have come on board. I like The Rock and it's cool that he's going to be another agent (newly created Agent 23). I think The Rock's appearances on SNL and his work, like RUNDOWN, show the man can handle comedy. Seeing him work off of Carell sounds great to me.
But the casting of Terence Stamp as an "evil leader" shoot this film into a geek mega-cool stratosphere. KNEEEELLLLL!!
Now let's just hope "evil leader" is more juicy than "weak, but kind in 2 1/2 lines" from Phantom Menace. Stamp is so cool and badass, he was even good in Electra. ELECTRA!!!!
Awesome move!

Gymkata: I mean look at da lil playah woblin his way into our hearts in the sig awwwwwww
Yeah, but nobody really can replace Don Adams in anything.
Admit it, though. This is a much better casting choice than Broderick for Inspector Gadget. I wonder who'd play Tennessee Tuxedo in a movie...
This statement is true. I'm a big Carrell fan and he's the best choice I can think of to fill the boots. I don't know if it will be as good, I don't reckon anything could ever be as good as the original. But damnit I'm going to give him a chance with it.
The Rock's career has been fading away slowly. The Rundown was great... then everything else became progressively more bland.

With Terrance Stamp, Steve Carrell, and Ann Hathaway ... this movie the Rock will be okay in. There will be others to carry the movie and he won't have to work too hard.
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
Trailer looks promising from what little they show.
Also, shoe phone, or bust.
