Best animated gif ever. Dexter's fingerprints are all over the box too -- Doakes is the definite fall guy but he 's too good an adversary for Dexter that he shouldn't leave the show.
The next episode promos show Doakes trying to get the blood analyzed using his contacts, Lundy having the box and having Dexter come in to the station to see the box

I can't wait for the next episode. I believe I just saw Dexter #19 and shit got realllly interesting at the end.

It's a good theory, but it seems too obvious. My theory is:
Dexter will end up fingering Lyla for all of the crimes once he figures out she purposely burns people alive when she gets crazy enough (old boyfriends is probably her victims of choice). Remember that she wrote the phone number of the old guy who killed Dexter's mother's on her wall, which could finger her.
I'm not sure how they'll end this Doakes thing... but I like Doakes so I really hope they don't off him.
Which season? Albeit both seasons are pretty exclusive to one another. The first introduces you to characters more thoroughly. So far we're on episode 9 of season 2 (of 12 episodes).
