True Blood got ridiculously bad by like season 2 or 3. I still end up watching it because they put it on when there aren't other shows I'm watching, but it's awful.
Yea I dropped True Blood too.
Also Newsroom, but that was after like, 4 episodes.

IIRC...
Season 1 was good.
Season 2 was trashy bad.
Season 3 was just bad.
Season 4 was nuke it from orbit territory.
I think I saw three episodes of Newsroom. I wouldn't call it bad but I wasn't feeling it. And then there's stuff like Shameless UK where I made it up to somewhere in season 8 before abandoning it.
You held on almost to the end Neo. I think 9 is the last season.
I dunno, I didn't watch any but the last episode of the last season. My wife liked it so I'd watch it with her but avoided the last season. I kept hoping Dex would mount a comeback and some how put the show back on the rails, the ending of the 2nd to last season completely blew that hope outta the water. Then I heard the last season was bananas bad. I got roped into watching the last episode and the ending was like MST3K levels bad.
I say Dexter can't hurt us any longer because it started off so strong. I compare it to House where the writers can't decide to either go with the shows formula, OR break the formula to explore other story arcs. So by the end of House and Dexter the shows were painful insults to their former selves with schizophrenic story lines requiring insane suspension of disbelief and so on and so on.

The Newsroom's first season was shaky at best, but I really encourage people to stick with it until season 2 - it improves tenfold. In fact, the second season was one of the best things on TV this past year. I don't know why the first season was so awkward, but they really cleaned up well.
