Thee Michelle Gun Elephant - Sabrina No Heaven. These guys really don't have any bad records. You're doing yourself a great disservice by not listening right now.
In Flames - Colony. Holy shit, these songs are 70% emo-core breakdowns and 30% SEGA racing game soundtrack? In Flames rules! They recorded the snare drum in a cave! I have no fucking idea what this guy is yelling about! It's all so over the top. Thumbs up. The guitars are hilarious. Do these guys even have a bass player? Who cares. Zombie Inc is hot.

Colony onward is pretty different from their death metal beginnings. I still super dig the pop stuff.

I love pop, so I'm way into it. What should I check out next?
Clayman, then Reroute to Remain.

Don't listen to Reroute to Remain. IMO, Clayman beautifully toes the line between amazing & awful before completely crossing it on Reroute.
Listen to Clayman and either stop, or give the earlier albums a shot (Whoracle is legit). And then maybe listen to Dark Tranquillity.

I liked Whoracle the most, then Clayman. Reroute to Remain fell to the same problem so much European metal does for me in that any life is overproduced completely out.
To boldly go where lots of men have gone before...
That's actually what I like about Reroute. They went full on pop production and embraced the new sound. Whoracle is probably tops for me as well, just because hearing that at 13-14 was amazing. Then probably Jester Race for the same. My favorite song is March to the Shore. The lead and Big Rock Moves in the chorus are just fantastic.
