lol I think Sony could overtake MS at some point, but it sure as hell won't be this year. They could easily overtake Nintendo though.
Its more fun to point out who vehemently, angrily, swearing on a copy of forbes magazine, denied the steelers were going to get into it last year, helps put your predictive skills into perspective. You then went on a hissy fit about salary caps and how they made it impossible to make a good team, it was funny. Besids, im just razzing you anyhow.
Its possible that sony will pull out of their very sluggish start and get some great games that will start moving systems. lair looks really impressive to me, but not enough to get a system for in isolation of anything else good. Compard to this gen, the last gen third and second place were a hell of a lot closer, and thats going to affect who companies decide to go exclusive with. Sony has less than a million installed whereas the 360 has 10 million and nintendo has 3.1, thats got to factor into wether AAA games get made exclusively for the system, particularly with the much higher production costs of current gen games vurses wii's last gen production costs and the 360's much larger user base, they need a user base thats big enough to justify taking the risks, so unless sony puts out some cash to flat out buy some great exclusives, i dont see them getting that killer AAA game thats going to push them past the Wii or be any kind of competition for the 360. I could be wrong, easily, but thats the view from the frontline.
NOTE: i edited for clarity, im talking about exclusives, sony isnt going to get any real traction by having games available on the cheaper and currently more popular 360, so i edited for clarity.

I see the Wii will sell more units than both combined. Crazy talk.
If it Ever gets games other than the nintendo standards, yeah. Otherwise I see nintendo staying at number 2 from momentum and inexpensive development costs for developers to put B titles out there and a few A games that use the controller in a correct way.

They started as well as they possibly could have, and Sony started as poorly as they possible could have, and the gap is still not very big.
Waitaminute. You're telling me that Sony is against 2D because they don't want to release a game on PS2 on American shores? A game... on a Sony console... helps prove Sony doesn't want it on their console? No, really, what?I like how you keep listing terrible companies for your defense. In any case, they've usually been right about those games. Do you honestly think that the Arc the Lad games would've sold individually for asking price? And if Sony's such a stickler about this, why did SNK release individual Metal Slug games on the PlayStation while packaging together releases for the Xbox and Wii? And how did Working Designs still manage to release Lunar, Lunar II, Silhouette Mirage, Thunderforce V, etc.? How did the PS2 still get ESP Galuda, Mushihimesama, Ibara, Shikigami no Shiro and its sequel, etc. at least most of which were released (in Japan, anyway) at full price? Disgaea and its sequel, Valkyrie Profile, Atelier Iris 2, Ogre Battle, Dragon Warrior VII (which looked like a NES game), Phantom Brave, Final Fantasy Tactics, Saiyuki, Kartia, etc.?So Working Designs and SNK, among others, were just imagining things when they personally stated that their games were delayed, forced into bundles, or outright cancelled because of Sony's harsh cert process towards 2D games.
If you're arguing that Sony thinks 2D games won't sell on American shores at full price, then you have part of an argument, but that in no way means Sony is against 2D. As I just pointed out plenty of 2D games come out on American shores at full price when they're being released by companies that have their shit together. Why does Atlus not complain about how almost their entire output are 2D games? Sony's released more 2D games then Microsoft or Nintendo has been (excluding handhelds), so why are they singled out for this? I'd like to see the huge list of 2D games on the N64 and Xbox (no roms please) that shows how specifically Sony must've been so much against that visual type.
p.s. I'm pretty sure Working Designs has at some point claimed that the Mongolians invading Poland in 1259 was cause for a delay in their products.
