I got home last night and flipped to ATHF (which is quite funny thank you) and saw the apology bump. I was wondering what the hell was going on.
Now I wish I didn't know. My belief in human intelligence has dropped greatly.

Judge Paul K. Leary seemed skeptical of the state's case, telling Grossman that the law requires that people must intend to create a panic to be charged with placing hoax devices. This case, the judge said, seemed to involve two men who relatives say were paid to place unorthodox advertisements throughout the city.

If anyone should be charged with causing panic, it should be Menino, and the local fox affiliate.

No one should be charged. It was a PR stunt that went sour. We should be able to sue people for idiocy.

I mean once you saw the "bomb" in question, I think the entire US population below 35 laughed their asses off.

This is the problem with government as a whole. Obviously experience is important, and that comes with age, but governments are run by old people who for the most part have no fucking connection to a huge chunk of their citizenship. Didn't someone ask a college-age intern for an opinion?
