I can't stand Wanda Sykes. Sarah Silverman is good though.

It's on HBO. I like Wanda Sykes but her last stand up show (again, HBO) was terrible.

Stern had her on the other day and played a clip of one of the sketches. She had just had sex with God and was blowing him off afterwards and God got all hurt. I didn't really find it funny at all.

It sounds like a take on the "Phonecall with God" that made Ellen Degeneres famous on Carson back in the 80's. I don't find her hot in the slightest.

It's all in the timing, and I think she has a great sense, there. Also, I don't think it's so much that she's trying to be offensive as much as establishing a character that's ignorant in a funny way.

The only problem with this is that we already have Borat, and he's so much better.

Borat's not a stand up comedian, nor does he have a sitcom, so kind of missing the point. But yes, they use offensiveness in similar ways, and I think you're beginning to understand why that's humorous.
