Bah, where's my Saturn-to-any-recent-console convertor? Why do so many companies consider the Dual Shock the must-have controller for other systems? ASCII needs to start making their DC Saturn-look-alikes for other systems.
As a big fan of the DreamConnection, I was wondering if anybody had tried Innovation's new converters for Xbox and Gamecube, enabling use of the DualShock on either console. If these work even half-decent, I know it'll save me some headaches... I still consider the default Xbox pad utter trash, and while the Type S is an improvement, my head will explode if ever I try to play a game that requires extensive use of the black & white buttons... ditto for fighters on Cube...

My friend has both of those items, and they work like a charm. We've used them for a while now, and haven't had any problems yet.Originally posted by LordPerrin

What I'd really like is a Saturn-to-PC convertor.
Also, a Gamecube to Xbox convertor would be nice (if I ever get an Xbox anyway)..
The lack of buttons on the Saturn controller stops it from being very useful.
The only problem I've had with the Dual Shock on GC is with Monkey Bowling. The left and right triggers aren't sensitive, so a spin is either all the way or none at all.
... they did... they have them on PS2...Originally posted by MechDeus

You're right. After all, with only eight major buttons, the PS2 beats that seeing as how it has... eight. And the XBox has even more at... eight. And how about that GC pad with... seven (nine if you count the "extra" buttons in the triggers). The lack of buttons on the Saturn controller stops it from being very useful.
Gah! Why wasn't I notified sooner?!Originally posted by FirstBlood

Are you forgetting about the buttons in the analog sticks?Originally posted by MechDeus

While I absolutely love the Japanese/2nd gen. US Saturn controllers (my favorite non-analog pad), am I the only one who absolutely hates those ASCII pieces of crap?
I'm sorry, but after trying one of those huge bulky fighting pads for DC, I stuck with my regular DC pad, uncomfortable as it was. At least the D-pad on the DC pad is great. The ASCII ones were way too oversized to actually pull off any moves...
I try to, I really do.Originally posted by Nigel-The-Landstalker

In any case, yes, I usually do since only two games use them effectively (Ape Escape and GunValk). Maybe when developers utilize them, they'll actually start to matter.
