Thread description pretty much says it all - good ol Maximus is playing the sheriff in a dark version of the legend where Robin Hood is a much more sinister character than he's usually depicted as. Sam Raimi, Ridley Scott, and Bryan Singer are in the running to direct, with shooting to start later this year or early next.

On a completely unrelated note, I visited Nottingham once. Fairly nice town (but a reportedly high crime rate), and there's a park dedicated to the Robin Hood legend.
The choice of directors make the story sound like an action-adventure tale. Hopefully it's a thriller.
