Good? I don't think I've ever seen anything those guys have done.
Just make it better than Ghostbusters 2, that's all I ask.
To run down a partial list of Logan:
Pineapple Express - Vaguely interested. Maybe if someone lends me a DVD of it.
Fanboys - Never heard of it.
Step Brothers - Never heard of it.
Kung Fu Panda - When it hits DVD.
Horton Hears a Who! - I don't need to explain not seeing this.
The Spiderwick Chronicles - I don't need to explain not seeing this.
Superbad - This looked to live up to its name.
Knocked Up - This looked to be as good as 40 Year Old Virgin, which bored me and was way too concerned about their terrible story instead of being funny.
Shrek the Third - I don't need to explain not seeing this.
"American Dad!" - I don't need to explain not seeing this.
You, Me and Dupree - God this looked so worthless.
"Help Me Help You" - Never heard of it.
The 40 Year Old Virgin - I did see this, summarized above.
Early Bird - Never heard of it.
Wake Up, Ron Burgundy: The Lost Movie - Tied to the below movie and I never heard of it anyway.
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy - Will Ferrell is really annoying so I had no desire to see this.
In fact, now that I've run that list paying more attention I hope he isn't involved at all.
Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen are responsible for some of the best comedies of the past couple years. And Judd Apatow, with 40 year old virgin and Knocked Up, single handedly revived the R rated comedy. They were funny, but had a heart and a good story.
I think Apatow and Rogen would be a perfect match for Ghostbusters. THey are obviously fans and would do some justice to the source material in a new movie.
However, after seeing Tropic Thunder, I think Ben Stiller would make a good director. He can do action comedies.

40 Year Old Virgin was a carbon copy of every idiotic romantic comedy that most guys dread their girlfriends or wives dragging them to, only with alternating scenes from a different comedy movie that apparently had the same people acting in it. How that counts as having heart and a good story doesn't make any sense to me, unless you also feel 27 Dresses was a good movie.
Don't get me wrong, 40YOV had its moments, but only like 1/3 of the movie is worth watching. Then again, considering the only competition these days is shit like Epic Movie, I guess I can understand why some people liked it so much.
I wouldn't disagree with that summation of the movie. It was like a romantic comedy for guys, i.e. more dick jokes and a boob shot. Guys liked it, chicks liked it. It had a pretty good story, good acting, was well written with some genuinely funny moments and a bizarre honesty. That's how most of Apatows movies are. And they're waaaaaay better than most comedies nowadays like you said.
Also, Apatow had his hand in Walk Hard: THe Dewey Cox story which was really really good and underappreciated.
I dunno, I've always liked Apatow since I saw Freaks and Geeks way back when, and he hasn't done anything to dissapoint me yet.
I think Apatow has brought about a new golden age for the comedy in Hollywood. Hollywood comedies haven't been this funny and this popular since the 80s.
The idea of this movie made Bill Murray beat his wife. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Go see it right now! Its fan fucking tastic and I don't know anyone who saw it and didn't like it.
Yes you do as this was a really good movie, with fantastic animation in it. Plus they did a pretty damn good job of taking a small tiny book and make it into a 90 minute movie.Horton Hears a Who! - I don't need to explain not seeing this.
Wow big news day today for Ghostbusters.
Looks like Sony is confirming it is not Apatow/Rogen but in fact, the two head writers of The Office.
