I think people are just protective of movies as they remember them instead of how they actually were.

But I did revisit the original GB, and you know what? It sucks too. It really is a complete mess that Bill Murray is funny in- with a cool car, a great theme song and the Stay Puft marshmallow man. Also that one shot of Slimer eating from the room service cart.

I saw this tonight. The internet's full of babies.
It was more silly than I wanted, and the plot is barely there, but it was still fun. They do make sure to bring up the original too many times to remind you that it isn't that movie. If you hold the original in very high regard it could prevent you from liking this.

Just saw this. The first 1/3rd was good and then it fell off a cliff. So many cringy improv moments. It was like the worst SNL sketches that never end and you just feel embarrassed for everyone.
Worst moments: the whole first Mayor scene, the whole action part.
Holtzman was so awful. She wasn't even a character. Not since Ace Ventura 2 has an actor been given free reign to be obnoxious for nearly 2 hours.
Also why did the building get put back together? The portal didn't break it apart, the growing ghost did. That made no sense.
