Same here. Tried playing Sonic Adv. 2 with it today...hoo boy, did it stink. That tiny ass B button is the Action button? Hell no.
    you're such a sad joke.

the B-Button on the GameCube controller is the same size as the face buttons on a Dreamcast controller and Dual Shock.
but then again, i wouldn't expect anyone here to complain about anything Sega.

Ever heard of a thing called BUTTON PLACEMENT son?

He's got a point though. Can't you configure the button layout, to use the A button instead?

  6. XBox: Whoo boy. My opinion has soo gone down after owning one. I've spent weeks renting every game I could get and all the demo disks I could find and I am soo dissapointed. I guess I was a victim of the whole "the grass is greener" thing. Halo owned me for one week, but that is about the only good experience I've had with the system. Why are the majority of the games running at 30fps or less. I know that it's power is overhyped by MS but I expected it to keep up with my Cube a little better. I'm still looking forward to PDO, so things aren't totally bad.

PS2: Love/Hate. Same as it always was. Good games. Shitty hardware.

GCN: I would've loved it if it was weak just because it's got Nintendo's homebrew on it. Thank goodness it's a beast of a machine though. I've had a great time with it thanks to Luigi, Pikmin, StarWars, SmashBros, ResEvil, all the superior ports, and the Sega love. Nearly every game runs at a solid 60fps as they should. The future looks too bright for the GCN with the really great titles on the way. Only a fool would choose another system over it(disclaimer; my opinion). My favorite by a very wide margin. I prefer substance over hype. And it's only gonna get better.

  7. Now, now, Lucas, don't get your Mario undies in a bunch. God, you complain about Sega bias but then flame anyone who doesn't get down on all fours for Nintendo. Sheesh.

About the pad: I didn't like it when it was on Virtual Boy and I like it less now. It sucks for fighting games and the analog pads are too close together.

what are you his twin? he was complaining about the button size, not the placement.

  9. Well I own none of them yet but....

PS2- I actually own two PS2 games, ICO and Photo Boy 2, and played both on a friend's modded system. Loved ICO, Photo Boy was OK. Honestly aside from Psyvariar, Night Raid, and Sky Gunner no other PS2 game has perked my interest. By sitting out on buying a console I've seen newer versions of Silent Hill 2 and MGS 2 get announced/released and saved money on buying the originals. At this point there is still not enough to warrant a system purchase for me, I respect the PS2's library it just largely doesn't appeal to me. Launch-hate, Now-indifferent

Xbox- At launch I had serious doubts about Xbox, but at this time it has the largest number of titles that interest me and the hardware has gone a long way in a short period. Like all three systems I'd enjoy more arcade content on Xbox but Shikigami and Crazy Taxi 3 would be decent enough fast twitch games (hoping anyway). Launch- indifferent Now- impressed

Gamecube- I will have a Gamecube one day for Nintendo's titles alone, much like N64. On the whole though I'm disgusted by the third party presence on Gamecube. Capcom is about the only company to step up with a quality exclusive and E3 was lacking. So much for carts being the only factor keeping third parties away... Launch- impressed Now- waiting, waiting, waiting.... *-neo

That tiny ass button is positioned near the bottom of the A button, and feels totally off whenever I press it. They could've assigned the action command to one of the bigger gray buttons, but noooo...they had to pick the tiniest, most out-of-place button...

I mean, if the GC controller can't even work with a game with simple controls as this, how's it goin' to fare against games with more complex controls?
