I see the red & white shirt didn't test well with the focus groups.

Less sarcastically, that's my biggest complaint with Naughty Dog. They do decent games, nothing revolutionary but solid and fun, but it's so focus-tested there's not a scrap of soul in the whole thing.

Well, Jak 2's structure was pretty revolutionary for a platformer.

I agree with the soullessness when it comes to character designs, though. Naughty Dog has some of the most amazing and talented animators out there and squanders their talents on focus-tested blandness.

Unless they have some sort of dynamic facial expression system, Drake has also recently acquired a Max Payne-esque constipated scowl. His sidekick has also become a bottle blonde, it appears.

It's awesome how Naughty Dog is AGAIN giving a Sony system it's first truly great game.

I'm using a little bit of hyperbole, but still, Crash was a big deal on PS, Jak and Daxter was huge on PS2 and now we have this.

Didn't Silent Hill 2, GTA3 and Devil May Cry all show up before Jak?

Well it probably has no real chance with the press since there's no multiplayer but best single player is still up for grabs and this look like a great candidate.

It will be pretty hard to surpass the greatness that was Bioshock. This might, but it will have to be pretty damn good.

Yaeh, I was about to say, as far as SP goes Bioshock is the game to beat at this point. Mass Effect does seem to have a chance. Uncharted's gameplay just does not look original or new enough to be given game of the year. I'm sure it has so extremely solid mechanics, just from what I have seen so far it isn't going anywhere new.
