Well, I have been looking forward to playing Beach Spikers for a long time. Since before it was even annouced for Gamecube. It's far from a must-buy, but it looks like a lot of fun to me. There is just something about it... I have also thought the Virtua Tennis comparision was a pretty apt one to make.
As for DOA Xtreme Vollyball... well, it looks good and all but I am pretty suspecious, for all the reasons already stated. The temptation/liklihood is pretty high that it's just cashing in on the "sex appeal" which drove the sales of the fighting games. It could still turn out good, of course, but I'd say that Beach Spikers is much more likely to turn out to be the better game.
We'll see. Maybe they'll both turn out good.
I still think I'd prefer Beach Spikers though.
