Tonights episode was allright.
It was definitely not superb.
I don't know what you watched but tonight's episode was superb.

- Jin kicking ass
- Sun's baby situation
- Juliet leaving a message for Ben
- "The plane was found. There were no survivors." Um, ya, that REEKS of chills being sent down your spine.

They left out a line from Jin after he kicked Mikhail.
"You think anybody wants a roundhouse kick to the face while I'm wearing these bad boys?"

Seriously, I'm still sticking w/my purgatory theory that I've had since day one. I know the producers have said it's not but think about it, do you really think they'd give something like that away? If you say what about Sun getting pregnant and Claire giving birth, well, my wife came up w/a thought that purgatory is like a dream state where, like in a dream, if you think about something it will appear (this would explain Kate seeing the horse, Jack seeing his father, Locke being able to walk, Rose being cured of cancer, remember, Ben said the island will basically do that, I don't remember the exact words). Also, the people dying on the island can be explained by them coming to terms w/issues they had before getting there (the plane crashing). They didn't really die on the island that's what the remaining "survivors" think, they are just taken off the island. This explains why Desmond couldn't just leave the island and was taken straight back to where he started.
Eko--Killed lots of people ruthlessly. He wouldn't repent then was killed by Smokey.
Paolo and Nikki--Poisoned a guy and stole his money. They were killed by poisonous spiders (some say it could have been Smokey). Also, Nikki appeared to be the mastermind behind that and was still greedy on the island in her search for the diamonds, unlike Paolo, which would explain why she was still alive when she was buried. Paolo could have been too but because of what we are shown, we'll say he was dead.
Libby--After the death of her husband she probably couldn't love anymore. She died shortly after becoming close w/Hurley.
Ana Lucia--After be kicked off the force by her own mother, she had trouble trusting people. She died after trusting Michael that he was going to go in and question Ben.
Boone--He had long had a crush on Shannon and wanted to be w/her. He died shortly after seeing her happy w/Sayid and coming to terms that they wouldn't be together.
Shannon--She had been in and out of relationships w/men but never in love. She may not have been able to love them. She meets Sayid, falls in love and then dies.
Michael--Well, he's not really dead but he's gone from the island. Before he could move on he had to want to be a father to Walter. It was the island that put the clues out there for him and let him make that decision.
Walter--Again, he's gone from the island too. He was there to help Michael in his journey.
I think that the next casuality we see won't be Sun because of her pregnancy, too obvious. I think it will be Sawyer. If my above theory is correct (and because of the previews we have an idea of what's going to happen) Locke wants Sawyer to kill someone. Now, when we last left Locke he had just seen his father. There is a possibilty that Locke's dad is the real Sawyer, who our Sawyer wants dead. Locke asks Sawyer to kill his dad. That's his test. Before the crash he wanted the real Sawyer dead, now he has his chance. Kill him, die and go to hell. Forgive him, die and go to heaven.
Speaking of Locke, he is my guess to be Jacob. A lot of people think Jack is Jacob. I think it's Locke. He's the first and only person to be told the truth by Ben and understands the island. I don't know where the Jacob name comes from but we'll find out at some point. Also, this would explain the Locke/Sawyer scenerio above.
I know this is long winded and if anyone actually read it, thanks. I had to get this out somewhere just to see what people thought and you guys are brighter than the people at IMDb. Also, it took me so long to write it the system logged me out. FTW?

While your theory is well thought and written it doesn't the following events don't really fit in the "it's purgatory" theory: Walt and Micheal living the island, The parachuter coming into the island, the sky turning purple after the hatch imploded, and the last scene in the season two finale with the Portuguese listening station and Penny Widmore.
I do believe that the smoke monster is also a test of morality where if you pass you live, fail and the monster will fuck you up. The best example of this was Ecko since the monster in the form of his brother asked Ecko to repent to which Ecko simply said that he didnt apologize for anything he has done since it has brought him to where he is today. The monster didn't like that and killed Ecko on the spot. I also belive the Nikki and Paulo were a victim of this. After Nikki knew Paulo stole the diamonds she let her inner greed come out and she failed which resulted in the spider zerg rush she faced.
I defintlley think Sawyer will be placed face to face with the real Sawyer next week though the previews show that it was Locke who asked him I think Ben will be the real force behind that situation by letting Locke have Ben captured and when Sawyer has the chance to kill him Ben will probably mention something vauge yet descriptive that only Sawyer would know like "Before you kill me you should know that I have the reason why you wrote that letter as a child" and then Sawyer will let Ben go in exchange for the real Sawyer.
I don't believe for a second that Locke is Jacob it looks like Ben is telling the truth but it looked that way for Jack to at first. Though I think that it's possible that Ben might grooming Locke for a higher leadership position considering his connection with the island. I think in the end Jacob will be a) a completely new character or b) Christian Shepard.
Yeah, I guess I did overlook a few things. Damn.
Plus, Juliette was brought to the island. Select Others have made the trip from the island to mainland in the sub, although the trip is apparently a rough one.
It's going more and more towards some sort of time rift/time travel situation imo. Agreed with Rico, Jacob is either Papa Shepard, a new character, or my crackpot theory - a concept similar to God but doesn't really exist.
This past week's episode was alright, the one before was a little too slow paced, but ok at best.
Who is this Jacob you people are speaking of?
Basically, he is, for now, just someone being namedropped.
Danny Pickett mentioned Sawyer not being on Jacob's list in the rain when he was going to kill Sawyer (this is right at the end of the six episode run last fall).
In the second Juliet flashback, Ben says Jacob can cure Juliet's sister's cancer.
Jacob's name is mentioned in room 23 where Karl is being brainwashed.
The writers mentioned in a podcast that Jacob is indeed 'Him'.
Being the Him mentioned when Ben was captured as Henry Gale ('He's a great man, but not a forgiving man/He'll kill me if I tell you the truth')
As well as the Him Mikhail mentions to Sayid, Kate, Danielle, and Locke before Locke allowed Mikhail to feign death. (Mikhail may have said Jacob flatout... can't remember)
Also the Him that Tom mentions way back in the Claire abduction flashback when he talks off to the side to Ethan. ('He won't be happy')
Jacob is the guy who runs the Others' show, essentially.
I really dug tonights episode. The tension! The intrigue! The possible purgatory that the producers denied way back when!
Sawyer continues to kick ass though, "Sawyer" was such a piece of shit. A douche to the final frame. Wonder if they're going to nail Juliette to the wall next week.
