    They spent 3 seasons going on and on about how Walt was important, yet NEVER explained it. 3 seasons. That's more than half of the show. Who cares if the actor has gotten older, they still could have covered some reason behind it all.

    Same with the not having kids thing. It was a BIG deal, and yet it's ignored.

    Look at the show as a whole. It's blatantly obvious they never had a plan like they claimed, that they were just making shit up because OOOOO that will seem mysterious, and never knew where they were going with it all. So rather than try to come up with an answer for it now it's just MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!
    You can't just keep saying "why" to everything. There is no answer they could've given that would've answered why, specifically, the island was special. We know there is electromagnetism involved, we know the island needs protecting or the world will end. Why? Well, why did Desmond push the button every 108 minutes? The same mentality could be applied to the light.

    Walt, to me, is the only thing that should've been resolved (well, that and the ash) because of how important they were. With that said, the characters progressed so much with different problems coming up, it didn't matter to them even though it mattered to the viewer. I'm not sure if that's a valid excuse, but I know I'm not losing any sleep over it.

    Not having kids was a result of the jughead I'm pretty sure. Ethan was the last person to be born before jughead went off in 1977 and ever since then women weren't able to have kids until Claire.

    I agree, there's no way they had this shit from the start. They announced that it'd last for 6 seasons total during season 3 I believe, and ever since then I'm sure they had a vague idea of where they wanted to go with the show. I don't care whether they did or not, I enjoyed the past 6 seasons.

    Better than I expected, but I wasn't expecting much with the way this season was going. Nice to see some the old characters, etc...

    Observations:

    Where the fuck did that huge-ass rope come from?
    LOL @ that plane getting fixed, rolling out of the jungle, and taking off. Yeah fucking right.
    Locke/Smoke death was awful and anti-climatic. And how, exactly, did Kate know where they were?
    Flash-sideways were a completely meaningless story arc that clearly deserved a lot less time.
    Kinda liked that these characters were so linked together that they had to wait for each other before heaven, or ascension, or whatever. Yellow light there, too.
    The stone-plug = WTF? And why could Jack & Desmond go there without turning into a smoke being like the other guy did? Really lame.

    You can only go so far trying to explain something. One of the themes of the show is faith; sometimes that's all you need to motivate you to do something. Faith that it serves a purpose. Faith that, if MIB gets to that light, the world would end. Faith that, if you don't press that button every 108, the world would end.

Regardless of what questions may or may not have been answered, it's some embarrassingly terrible television to spend half of the FINAL SEASON establishing an alternate setting where ultimately nothing matters other than that our <3 <3 FAVORITE CHARACTERS <3 <3 get to live on forever in happiness.

  6. After thinking about it a bit more, I think the flash-sideways story arc was more about showing us the lives that the characters wanted to lead rather than the lives they did. Did it deserve 50% coverage in the final season? No. I don't think it was meaningless, however.

    Anybody have an exact statistic on them? I know I started watching the show 35 minutes after the start time so I could fast-forward the DVR at the commercials. My "buffer" ran out with about an hour left in the show. I'm guessing there was close to 50 minutes of commercials.

    Faith that, if you don't actually write a resolution to anything your fans will chalk it up to some bullshit theme of "faith" so they can sleep at night.

  10. My favorite waste of three minutes was the fucking tree falling on Ben, them trying to get it off of him, then cutting to the next scene with him at the cliff with everyone else without showing them getting him out from under it and without him being hurt even a little.

    I watched Breaking Bad after Kimmel last night - and a random midseason episode of Breaking Bad was leaps and bounds better than the Lost finale btw.
