I think he did it like that because of the vision Desmond had and I don't think he would have had time to get out and close it.

I think he closed the door because he was so alright with the concept of him dying and Claire and Aaron going home. He didn't want to short circuit Desmond's vision of them escaping.

And yeah, the Charlie scene was well done. Glad he didn't die with what he learned from Penny not making it to anyone else.

Juliet would have her sister (assuming she was alive) at the funeral, but Ben is a possibility. But I just don't see Jack developing the kind of sympathy he had in the flashforward.

So how does next season go? We learn what happens after the island story ends for each character? Could be interesting if it's done well (which is a crapshoot with this show). Bah, I don't want to wait until January.

It's a tough call. As time goes on, we may see a more amicable relationship build between Ben and Jack that could be more for the dead Ben scenario.
