Thread: Lost

  1. Last nights episode was pure shit. Plus it had to have been close to only 30 min long, I swear there was a commercial for 4 min out of every 10.

    Eat a bag of dicks.

  2. Absolutely awful episode. The first episode of the second half was a fluke. Drag this shit out to the middle of the street and shoot it.

Honestly, did anyone watch the preview for the next episode and think 'Ok, that's literally all that's going to happen in this one'?

Yep, and they are wrong, it isn't the episode that I have been waiting for, since you can tell from the preview it is going to suck also. The aren't going to rescue Jack, Kate and Sawyer are going to show up at the end of the episode to rally the troops and they will give us the "NEXT WEEK ON LOST THEY MAY POTENTIALLY GET OFF THE BEACH AND GO INTO THE JUNGLE TO RESCUE JACK" bullshit they give us every week. I think I am finally starting to get fed up with this show, especially when there are so many other TV shows on now that are both awesome, and stuff happens to progress the story.

Battlestar Galactica and Heroes both take steamy dumps on Lost.

And Bai Ling = the sexiness.

I watched my first episode a little over a week ago. I am almost half way through season 3 now. It's a very kick ass show.

You're wrong on all accounts. This weeks episode was forty two minutes and sixteen seconds long. So was last weeks episode. The one before that was forty two minutes and fourteen seconds long.

You guys need to start watching these without commercials. It really makes a difference.

  8. Jesus Christ, we're gonna' need a janitor in here to wipe the period blood off the walls.
    Boo, Hiss.

  9. It was an averagely good episode but way too uneven. For on Island scenes, it had good character interaction all around, but other than Jack doing a good job of holding his own against the Others and continuing to play Ben, it was pretty bland pacing. The flashbacks were bland, contrived and almost completely unneccessary. So Jack got beaten up by the brother/friends of Bai Ling's spaced out body artist after he took away her honor (?) because he made her give him a tatoo which is her job? Who cares? And the meaning of the tatoo? shrug Like we needed all that exposition just to be pretentiously told what we already know? That he's a lonely leader? Sometimes the writers seriously grasp at way to many straws for the most tedious of symbolism. There was no way a Jack story could have matched Desmond's excellent flashback (which Cuse and Lindelof confirmed was time related in some literal way, and not all in his head) but it was still exceptionally dull IMHO.

I was so glad when Jack finally called Tom and the rest on their self righteousness. Out of all his complaints though, I just wish he would have also mentioned when Ethan came out of the water and killed Steve. Especially later when Ben whined about the fact "We had a surgeon." Not mentioning the one person he murdered is poor writing and also IMHO kind of later invalidated the awkward "We're here to watch you scene." Ohhh. Ambiguity, maybe the Others are kind of good since Cindy and the kids look happy. So the Others kill people but they let a pretty stewardess and some kids live and Jack doesn't like to be stared at. OK.

Liked Isabel "the sheriff," her actress has a genuinely imposing presence. And I'm glad Sawyer stood his ground and told Kate to shut up about wanting to go back right away and retrieve Jack.

Best line "PUNCH 'You gotta Cowboy up!"

Well it felt like 30 min to me I could have sworn some of the episode segments were less then 7 min long in between commercials.

I really couldn't have summed that up any better. I felt like the majority of the episode was a complete waste of time because of the flashback related to Jack. And unless that flashback comes back in full swing in terms of weird coincidences it really was just a huge waste and adding even more filler to the show so they didn't need to advance the core of the story.

Also, the last part of that episode was fucking awful. Get that "look at the people show their emotions to a lame montage" out of this show. It's a waste of time and obviously filler.
