Thread: MvC2 on PS2 to feature online play!

  1. ... i can guaruntee that Capcom will rip the god-damned online-play from the US version...

... the fuck-heads do it every single time...

the ONLY reason i would even consider buying MvC2 for the PS2 is if it has Online play, because 1. The AI is so incredibly easy even when on the hardest mode, that playing by yourself gets boring after the second round. But again, capcom is going to fuck us, so i say (yet again) FUCK YOU CAPCOM...

  2. I think I'm the only one on these boards who would somewhat enjoy MvC2 online.

...And I'm probably one of the few who thinks it's possible to play MvC2 seriously. Not that I DO play MvC2 seriously .

nope read my posts i would too

    i want fighters online
just give me a damn fighter online allready

  4. i'm with you too...

... if the DC revs of the Capcom fighters would have had online play, they would have gotten so much more play time from me...

... competition is what makes the game, and if there isn't any, it isn't nearly as fun...

You can say you'll have more playtime and fun if an online mode was included, but the online mode is pointless. Capcom's fighting games use a direct dial method where you just directly dial your opponent like a local phone call. Therefore, there's no point at all because that person might as well just drive their ass over to your house to play. And even if you want to debate that sometimes you just don't have the time or whatever to hang out at one of your houses, it's not like you aren't playing the same person online that you've played the last 800 times together at home. You might as well play single-player.

  6. you can still do direct connect things with out direct dialing a phone call

i dont see why they cant institute something like this

i mean you have your single main server that acts as a chat room
form there you say hey joe wanna fight joe says ok
your then directly connected to joe and fight to your little hearts content

much the way Peer 2 Peer filre sharing and other direct connect file sharing agents work

and hell i think not sure its how diablo and all the battle.net games work

you can get a direct connection with out having to dial into that person plus if osme one has broad band you cant dial into them anyway

you could have the main server determine who has the faster line and have them act as the "server" for the game between the 2 people

Yeah, that's how nearly all PC and DC games work. Using that system brings connection ping and lag into the equation though, and that 1-2 second lag between what you do and when it happens on the screen would ruin fighting games as fast and reactionary as Capcom's. PC gamers know how frustrating and fun-ending this is.

  8. maybe on 56k i cant imagine 2 people on BB having that horrible kind of times

ill find out soon enough when my PSX/2 - USB adapter comes in
