That's what made it work for me. The fights didn't feel like boring, obligatory tedium the developers tossed on your lap. They were fun, kinetic...a huge leap over OoT. TP's issue was that the same action-y stuff was spaced over much longer intervals of so-called puzzle solving.

(ok, so TP is a better OoT, but I still think we could do with more NES Zelda style and less OoT style gameplay)

  2. I'll go give WW another shot sometime soon, Finch may have it. It's always possible I wasn't in the mood for a Zelda game. The game is pretty enough to give a try.

I really enjoyed the Sword techniques, they weren't necessary but they added a certain fanciness to the action that prevented it from being nearly as stale.

  3. Best Gannon fight in the series.

It was just dull. It had nothing to do with the graphics or anything, it just wasn't any fun. I had a roommate shortly after that was playing it and every time I walked by the TV the dude was just sailing around. I never saw him do anything else. 10/10 GOAT

  6. That's all it was, really. The sailing killed the shit out of that game. The world is about 90% water and then some land here and there. Nigga, if Water World sucked what made you think Wind Waker was a god idea?

  7. My beef with WW wasn't as much the sailing. I hated the two dungeons where you had to have characters with you. Specially the forest one, just as annoying as the Water Temple in OoT. The sailing sucked but I dealt with it, same with the triforce hunt at the end, those 2 damn temples though annoyed the fuck out of me. Game isn't garbage though, it definitely did a lot of things right. Combat, the Ganon fight, and even a stealth section that didn't make me want to stop playing the game.

  8. Wind Waker had heart and adventure. That's all Zelda needs. All Zelda has had since is $'s in the place of eyes.
I sold it a long time ago, but i'm pretty sure it's cheap by now.

Wind Waker would be my favorite Zelda game, if the action hadn't dropped to a crawl with the Triforce hunt.

Weren't there unfinished dungeons and shit on the disc? I think they totally ran out of time and fudged that last bit with the triforce pieces. Could've been an amazing game, but it's still really good.

I would like to stress that the look is perfect for Link and needs to be revisited outside of DS games.
