Thread: Sirius and XM to Merge

  1. fuckin a they got rid of boombox too. this new lineup for music is straight up balls. only thing keeping me on is howard.

the program director is a sirius asshole

  2. I also noticed as I went through the music channels that there are DJs now.
I know XM had a few DJ hosted shows, but for the most part there was straight music. What the fuck do I need someone telling me what song just played for? That's what the screen on my radio is for!

  3. It's certain channels - I know Faction has DJ's while Lithium does not, for example.

  4. This blows. Fine Tuning is also dead, now. Plus the new DJ chatter on some channels.

  5. Nearly shit myself a second ago.
I went to XM online to listen to the end of the Ron and Fez show. I looked at the menu on the left to click "Talk". It's not there.
I scanned through the individual channels and now 202 is a part of "comedy".

  6. Ive tried to listen to faction today at work, but there is a second station bleeding into the left channel, so it sounds like crap.

Alt Nation so far seems no different from Ethel. Cane is still even the afternoon guy.
“The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, you know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.” -George Carlin

  7. My initial thoughts:

    1. They left Lithium alone, which I appreciate.

    2. Pure Jazz had a name change, but it doesn't sound any different, so I'll take it.

    3. The moved The Pulse to 12, which is a pain in the ass, because I liked flicking the radio dial back and forth between 8 and 9.

    4. Are Nina Blackwood, Martha Quinn, and the rest going to stay on the 80s channel? Because if not, that does not sit well with me. At all.

    5. 40s on 4 is actually pretty interesting. Of course, it could just be because I'm playing Fallout 3 now, but it was a nice little surprise nonetheless. We didn't really have anything like that before.

    6. What's with all the "Sirius XM" shit? I understand keeping the name for corporate purposes, but in terms of naming channels, it's annoying as fuck. Pick one or the other, make it uniform, and call it a day.

  8. On O&A they explained that most of the XM station's they're "keeping" are actually just renamed Sirius stations, too. XM is basically gone apart from a couple stations.

I like that they seem to have kept most of the Sirius programming, but that really blows for the former XM DJs that got lost in the process (especially this close to the holidays).

I prefer XM. AM/FM/XM. It makes sense.
Sirius? I'm listening to the radio, not staring at clouds.
