Two such games that really suck are the overhead view scrolling fighters Ikari III and DownTown.

Ikari III has no business being done as a beat'em up. This one uses an overhead view and a rotary controller, with punch/jump/kick replacing the gun and grenade buttons. Unfortunately, rotary control doesn't mix well with a scrolling fighter- the same thing which dooms DownTown, which is quite similar but with the Double Dragon gang theme.

anybody played Big Fight, Denjin Makai, Legionnaire or Zero Team? They seem promising but aren't playable in Mame.
