  2. There is no numeral "II" in Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder. Golden Axe II is a completely different and infinitely shittier game.

  3. I've never played the arcade game, but wouldn't Battletoads fall under "games originally developed for consoles"? Nice list btw.

    How is Ninja Clowns?

  4. Powered up MAME today and none of my motherfucking usb pads work with it now. I went and ordered this. Probably not a smart move, but if it works on a mac, I'll be pimpin' those roms with a DC stick.

It's nice to see the emulators for SNES and other systems have evolved, but MAME is still a horse's ass to get working like it always used to be.
You don't have to be smart; you don't have to know the facts, you just have to be confident.

Mame32 is plenty convenient. If MacMame is similar at all, there's a simple "enable joysticks" option that isn't on by default.

MAME really couldn't be much easier...

  7. MacMAME probably hasn't evolved much or I have an old version.

  8. Macs are kind of shitty for emulation. Not a lot of options, and not very good ports.

Then again people around here will emulate on an Xbox, so you're still ahead of the curve.

The arcade Battletoads game is original, it's actually the latest in the series.

Ninja Clowns I've played briefly, it's playable and the strange Luna Park theme might hold your interest.

  10. I never got the love for this genre. Always seemed so repetitive and boring, not to mention unfair (no way to avoid getting hit in so many of them).

I did like playing Nightcrawler in that X-men one that spanned two screens or something. I'd always just run into the corner and run against the edge of the screen during boss fights so it looked like I was trying to run away. Then everyone would be like, "Dude, help us! We're dying!" as they pumped more quarters in. I'd just lol and keep running against the edge of the screen.
