Go back to being bitter about the yanks pls k thx. :x
And for those not in the know or who don't live in Boston, and might actually want to know what happened with him, the general belief around the Dice-man's wildness probably had more of an effect on how much the red sox changed his routine from the ridiculous thing it was in Japan. They were wary and taking far too many precautions in his warm up routine (which consists of, running heavy sprints before a start, playing 200 ft long toss right before a start, throwing over 100 pitch bullpen side sessions, in between starts, and never putting ice on his shoulder). The Sox allowed him to return to his normal routine after the last two atrocious starts, and it seems to have made a difference. Especially control wise, and the fact that he seems to be able to consistently attack the strike zone after that weird routine has had some time to set in, whereas over the last two-three starts he just kept having meltdowns in innings.
The guy is adjusting. I fully expect him to have a decent season. But if the Sox remain smart and just let him do what he's done in japan as far as warm ups go, he has no where to go but up.
