  2. I had no idea that Judgement Silversword was coming out alongside Eschatos. Pretty awesome.

    Edit: I also sort of take exception to the fact that neither of these games are listed under the 'Popular New Releases' on Steam. I mean, obviously the fans will find them, but way to sweep them under the rug on day one. Is this determined by some algorithm, or is it a dude sitting there assigning each release to one list or the other?

  6. Hey look, a game that nobody cares about just came out on GOG:
    System Shock: Enhanced Edition

    What's notable about this release is the inclusion of higher resolution modes, mouselook, bugfixes, and remappable keys. I like the original non-mouselook control scheme (letting you shoot anywhere onscreen without changing your view is something I wish somebody would use in a modern game), but I can understand that its use-every-key-possible design philosophy might not be to everyone's tastes. There are mods out there to integrate this stuff, but it looks like the GOG version just comes with them all pre-installed and saves you the hassle of setting them up yourself.

    Best DOS game just got better. Most Bioshock fans and even System Shock 2 fans will continue to avoid it, though. Everyone wrongly assumes it has aged poorly.

  9. It's not even a DOS game anymore. The Enhanced Edition runs as a native Windows application. No more DOSBox! Though GOG also gives you the original DOS CD-ROM and floppy versions too, if you want to check them out. There are some amusing physics bugs in the floppy version. You can run on walls!
