Thread: Official PC Thread

  1. Honestly don't know if it's running all that well yet, I just saw the screens and was floored. It still takes a reasonably beefy CPU to get guaranteed 100% performance out of Wii games, too, from what I've seen. But man is it getting there.

  2. It's not perfect, but it's at least on par with PS2 emulation. It does require some ridiculous clock speed though.

  3. So, every time I launch steam, it goes through some stupid 'configuration' process and adds a shortcut to the desktop, as if it's installing for the first time. I know steam updates a lot, but this is literally every fucking time I launch the steam client, even if I just launched it and shut it down minutes earlier. Has anyone else had this happen?

Oh, and it resets all of the options to default settings every time as well. Awesome.

I would recommend letting it get set up and then exiting it manually once to ensure everything gets saved, rather than letting your PC shut it down when you shut down or reboot.

  5. I'm hoping that by the end of the year I'll be able to ditch my P35 / Core2Quad Q6600 and build a new X58 / Core i7-920 rig.

And when I do, it's so going in this Torture Rack testbed-style case:

That will fit on my desk so much better than this Antec 900. Mucho convenience.

Sounds like you have a corrupt client config. Go into your Steam directory and delete ClientRegistry.blob (when Steam isn't running) and then start Steam again.

  7. Steam deals for today.

    Ghostbusters: $9.99
    Borderlands: $33.49
City of Heroes: Architect Edition: $9.99
    Left 4 Dead: $7.49
    Resident Evil 5: $24.99
    Order of War: $9.99
    Spore: $19.99
    Trine: $9.99

I'll pick up Trine, Ghostbusters and RE5.

  8. I should buy Trine for ten bucks, but I'm just going to hold off.

  9. I hear Ghostbusters is a mess on PC. Trine is great for $10 if you don't already have it.

  10. I didn't have any issues with Ghostbusters on PC... other than the game being boring that is.
