Dammit, I forgot you need a clear file to get certain items. Does anyone remember if getting the bad ending counts as such, or do I need to go through and beat everything? I'm just looking to get my first run done as quick as possible so I can start on a "real" playthrough.

Damn. I'd complain, but it's not like having to play through an awesome game multiple times is punishment or anything. I've just never done a completionist run and tried to fill out all the lists and get all the items, and now seems as good a time as any.
After you beat the game and reload your cleared file you can go get those two items.

I tried but I don't like it, it feels less precise then having solid digital directions. Maybe if it had ridges cut into the plastic circle like the GC did, but not as a standard stick. The only time I ever do that is when playing MAME on the PSP because the d-pad on that system is such a terrible piece of shit that it's the only way I can do diagonals.
