That's like, all the Disney movies - they usually make the main character(s) "safe" while the rest of the cast gets personality. In a weird way, this only contrasts and helps those guys shine MORE.

But...I haven't seen it ;_; Really want to, but holiday shopping is a mess + three birthdays all in the same month. If nothing else, a guy like me who wants to be a part of doing stuff like this ought to support honest efforts to keep traditional animation alive.

I'm going to disagree with this. Granted their villains are usually more interesting than the heroes but that's how it always goes. Look at Aladdin, he wasn't a boring flat character. I really felt like Tianna and the Prince were just really flat and boring characters.

But yeah wtf, where do Tianna's feelings come from? Not being out much? She probably has the emotional maturity of a twelve year old. And Naveen, the ladykiller? Bitch must make some good gumbo.

OH! Plus I kinda-sorta know one of the designers/animators that did Tiana's dream/song sequence! That was an amazing bit they threw in.

Plus - the color design was amazing! Especially going from the muted moment to the more vibrant without being jarring. I <3 the voodoo sequences too...and I want the hat!

Yeah those two were some incredible sequences right there and really sold me the movie despite the whatever plot and story. And yes every character sings a song.

I was going to see this over the weekend, but the mother of my Little Brother (through Big Brothers Big Sisters) said that he couldn't because it is a "girl's movie." It just about killed the child inside me.
