You're right, "Play 2,000 ranked matches on Live" achievements are awesome.

Fixed. I hate that shit. Games offer split-screen, system link, and online play for a bazillion players; but all the multi-player achievements are through ranked matches only.

Fuck that noise.

That's my problem. I wouldn't mind if the Gears of War online achievements weren't in ranked matches but they are and I really don't feel like playing Gears outside of the TNL group.

It may work out for you then if they go ahead with the idea of adjusting the GoW achievements to count in regular online games instead of just ranked ones.

I don't play ranked matches in Gears either but I wouldn't mind if they kept the multiplayer achievements ranked-only. I'd be kind of sad if they lifted that restriction though, since I'm pretty sure I've killed every multiplayer achievement already in player matches.
