my box arrives in 2-5 days, so i can play agin soon! woo!
i read the hands-on for forza 2 over at 1-up and they said the scaler chip in the 360 is a freakin beast. they supposedly have the game dialed at 60fps as well.
also the gpu has had a die shrink (not yet included in ANY of the systems) so hopefully the cpu goes that route as well sooner rather than later.

That's only for component. The VGA cable gives you 1080p on everything, just like HDMI.
That reminds me, does anyone know which resolutions are supported with the HDMI cable? Is it just the HDTV standards, or can it output all of the resolutions that the VGA cable does? I haven't been able to dig up any info.
That's the deciding factor for me when it comes to which system to get. I don't really care about the hard drive, and HDMI is worthless to me if it doesn't output at my monitor's native resolution.
I got a problem. I just got the Red Ring of Death while attempting to play Lost Planet online last night. As soon as I connect, the screen gets artifacts and completely freezes. The only way I bring it back is by unplugging it.
The weird thing is that it works fine with my other games, both online and off. Everything plays like normal.
I've been playing Lost Planet online since its release and never had any issue with it. Could it be that my save file got corrupted somehow and its crashing my system? Anyone else have similar issues? My system is horizontal and in a well ventilated area. Should I trade up for an Elite or are those buggy too?

The new one I swap it out with will be #4. If this had happened to any one of my other systems, I would've given up by now and moved on to something else. It's like being in an abusive relationship, but you love them sooo much you keep going back for more.
I was thinking the exact same thing. My original launch unit dies literally a week before my year warranty expired so I was able to get a brand new one. It didn't have any problems, but I traded up for the Elite and got the 2 year warranty. I always get the warranties now cause even if a system isn't known for having any problems, something can still always go wrong.
are we still updating the dead 360 thread? if not i'd love to see current numbers. eggroll is on #4? jesus christ that's just pathetic on MS's part.
