Thread: damn shin akuma's!

  1. damn shin akuma's!

i'm at school right now and i just got finished playin' some street fighter alpha 3. as some of you may already know i use either fei-long or guy when i'm playing. usually when i play with my friends outside of school i come across a wide range of characters from rose, to adon to.....who ever. anyway i was expecting to see some other characters and maybe learn a few things about fighting people with other play styles.....LOW AND BEHOLD! everyone i fought used either shin-akuma or ryu. i beat them all. i fought about 5 shin'kuma's in a row....then a ryu. i got 1 surprise when some guy pulled out guy on me (funny) but he didn't use him to his full potential. i don't consider myself the best player or anything. my friends usually beat my ass when i play them.....i guess we kinda go back and forth, but i was really let down today with the lack in variety of characters to fight. now all the guys i beat hate me. they think i'm cheap and whatnot. how the hell can guy an' fei-long be cheap? whatever. they're just mad 'cause i beat that 2 throwin' fireball looser shin akuma. i don't hate akuma or anything, but man, pick someone else for a change.

uh.......who do you guys play with in alpha 3 and 3rd strike anyway? for me in third stike i stick to yang and remy.

  2. I'm thinking you might need to take a little road trip out to either Milwaukee or Chicago and we can show you how it's done!

Seriously though, you play so many shoto players in my area it's not even funny. Thing is 98% of them all play the same way, so it's no big dealio...

  3. Zangief and Karin. Baby!

  4. *sigh*... i'd play more SFA3 if it worked with my VGA box...

... but for Third Strike, i like to use Yang, Ibuki, and Remy (even if i can win easier with the Shoto's, it's more fun to play as the other characters, and i don't look like as much of a scrub )

  5. Ken and Ken, respectively.

I can't stray far from the man in red. Some Sakura here and there in SFA3, I think.. haven't played the game in a while, though.

  6. Rama: Remember, they're using a character who was designed to be faster and stronger then anyone else in the game, Shin Akuma's the cheapest character in the whole game. He may take more damage, but that's something more balancing for regular Akuma then Shin.

The next time they call you cheap, tell them maybe they should learn someone besides the cheapest boss in the game if they want to bother using skill. (Urg... not that all of the characters in SFA3 are that great placed together, that game really needed more time to balance things out.)

  7. i dont like shin akuma

i used to use ryu and akuma alot and now that ive gotten back into the fighing games im starting to stray from them

i tell you its hard not to use Ken in SFA or SFA2 hes just way way way too damn powerful
with ken in SFA or SFA2 i can beat opponets in 3 - 5 seconds

the first time i saw the clock stop at 95 (starting at 99) i think i almost shit myself

back in the SF2 days i practiced and played the game on the SNES with every damn character (had to see all the endings) my skills have so atrophied since then its sad

but i practice and ill be back one day

That sucks man, it works with mine. But hey, Third Strike and Mark of the Wolves are better games anyway, heh.

As for this thread, that's why I call 'em shotoklones. On the one hand, it's not so bad when someone picks 'em, since I know exactly what to expect and I've been taking them apart for years. On the other hand, it's freakin' boring. Even if someone goes to the old standby of Yun/Yang, it's at least something different. I myself use Oro or Remy (only if the other person doesn't know how to parry, heh) and the look on their faces when I bust out the EX Kishin Riki for the first time is always classic ("hey, what is that, a raging demon?").

I had some fun with Akuma in the "Mr. Whitefolks great idea" thread.

  9. heeeeeheeeeeeeheeeeeeeeeeee!

it was so funny today. we got to play some 3rd strike and i was unbeatable. of course i fought more shoties, but i picked remy with the blue nocturne super (the one that only works if the other guy hits you). it was great. you know how shoties like to do that whole "wake up upercut" move if your standing over them when they're on the ground? well, all i had to do was start the super while over them, and low and behold every time they fell for it. it was beutiful. i would walk right up to them and do the super 'cause i knew that they were anctious to hit me. now they want me dead even more.

BWA HA HAA!! Way to go, rama. Hey I play as Ken myself, but my favorite anti-shoto is Gen in Alpha 3.
