Well it has happened...I too have fallen for the iressistable $199 price point for the Xbox, if only to enjoy Sega's games, for graduation, and also got Halo. I borrowed DOA3 and PGR from MVS as well. DOA3 to me, simply has the best graphics ever (aside from the characters), and Halo is awesome fun but no where NEAR the hype, and those graphics should be at 60fps. Nice bark and grass but that's the tradeoff for that bad mip-map effect that makes things fuzzy until you get up close to them. So far I'm liking the system...I still think it's ENTIRELY too large (that thing must be the size of like three Game Cubes!), especially next to the Cube, but the controller has been growing on me a lot. After extended play it's too large, but otherwise, it's a 'decent' pad. I want to try out a type-S one though. There's something about the graphics and the way they are displayed that looks a bit different...I'm not sure what it is but that little subtlety I could do without. But overall yes, I'm happy and satisfyed with my purchase. =) Now I have all three current gen systems, wahahaaaa, I won't have to buy a new system for at least a couple years now, time to enjoy and buy some friggin' games for a change! It's just too much fun getting a brand new video game system, and s-video cable (or component...but not for me until I get a switchbox for that), with a game, getting home and opening it up for the first time.

thanks man! yeah it really has some great games already out AND coming soon, and even though I was hestitant about getting the system at first, owning it is something I'm happy about and again it has some truly great titles...that's what I'm here for, I LOVE playing good video games and it's got a nice amount of them already. As a system and overall it's a lot better than I thought it would be/was expecting, especially that controller. So far I think Microsoft is doing a pretty good job with it, even if it's not selling very well in other territories (which, after owning the system, now puzzles me...this thing has some truly great games already out and coming, just look at all of Sega's shit from E3!).

If those GC games that have been released there is really only one game with any amount of replay value (SMBM). Everything up to this point is a rental at best in terms of length. Sure things will change with the GC come fall but until then I will just play with my roomates GC until some of their real games come out.

Not to mention, I really don't like the GC controller. The controller is ergornomically...sp? brillant but the button placement needs some serious work. D-pad is out of place and too tiny, the damn thing is smaller than my thumb-nail.

I'm not bashing but will not be any GC loving from this man until fall. Until then I have my xbox to keep my all cool this summer.

cant agree with you on Halo, IMO the hype and more,,,

and the pack in controller rocks, i have officially come to the conclusion that all the negative press in regards to the controller being to large, etc was generated by anti MS factions amongst th gaming media. it fits like a glove. the buttons are a little close together, but the sze is all good. its like a better DC controller.
