Yes, it's still a good game. KOTOR 2 had better writing and some nice gameplay additions, but is also unfinished.

I don't think I ever played 2, but I love 1 and have played through it about six times.

Will it still be good if I skip all the story sequences, I am wondering. The "game" part of the game actually has some meat to it?

why would you do that? It has some of the most interesting character mysteries/development of any game.
