If I had unlimited funds, maybed I'd think differently. PC gaming continues to be a bunch of bullshit. Don't even start telling me how cheap it is to upgrade. If what was high-end two years ago costs 4-600 to upgrade every two years, I don't want to hear it. The best part is a game that runs Hellgate perfectly probably still can't run Crysis decently on maxed settings. Seriously, I don't want to hold you people with money back, but this thing ought to scale much better than it does. It's a fucking dungeon crawler for christ's sake, and honestly plays like World of Warcraft more than anything else I've played recently.
The only thing that makes the game chug now is tons of enemies onscreen at once, and even then usually only if it's two floors rendering at once, like when you're on a catwalk. I'm pretty surprised at how...not scalable this is. We're well over the min requirements, too.
The game at full settings is really pretty but..honestly, not significantly better looking than Oblivion, it's just all the enemies it has to manage onscreen at once that causes problems, I suppose.
It's a pretty neat dungeon crawler but I think I prefer the isometric view. To their credit, the enemies have done some pretty interesting things thus far.
