Thread: The emergence of the 3d platformer

    Scarily enough, that's consider a modern form (i.e., 1996 and beyond).

    I actually liked it a lot, but it's complex controls don't exactly make it the easiest game to get into. The level design was very clever though, and the way it blended puzzle and action into one was true to the original Flashback.

    The step-based control is very awkward nowadays (same for Tomb Raider), and its probably aged poorly, but it was definitely pretty cool at the time. I've heard the PlayStation port sucked, though, but I've never played it.

    I actually beat the PS version too. God that was hard.
