Radio plays are apparently still a viable medium in Japan. It seems like every anime under the sun has a radio play spinoff. Honestly I wish they were still popular here; there's a certain unique magic in verbal storytelling that we're really missing out on today. If you want an example, fire up iTunes and subscribe to The News From Lake Wobegon. (It's not actually a play, but you'll get the point.)
