What do you guys think of edge magazine? I don't read the magazine personally but according to metacritic they gave the game a 50 (out of 100 I assume).

It always looks like when their review scores get posted on the interwebs for the month they seem to be a bit harsher when it comes to the ratings.

I don't even know if this is worth posting since trusting review publications,good or bad seems like a joke. Just wondering what TNL's two cents were.

I like Edge's features, and they have some good writers, but I generally ignore their reviews. They're not only notoriously harsh graders, but hasty, too.

If you played and enjoyed the first one, then you will like this one. A lot. I mean, on the very first level, you can use an old school prosthetic arm to pistol whip a crazed bum, and then ram his bleeding head into a TV set. 5 out of 10? I think not.

Exactly. Fuck that Edge review. You enjoyed the first one you WILL enjoy Bloodshot. The melee is definitely more crazy as the enemies seem more faster than in the first game but maybe thats me. Its fun doing a combo (you get upgrades if you do all the optional stuff in a level), then throwing something to stun them then do another combo only to smash their head on a tv. The game is really dark like the first game and the flashlight is the dimmest ever so you gotta watch yourself. So far only two levels in but I'll get into it more when I'm finished with Lost Odyssey tonight.

I agree with Frog on their reviews. I also find the magazine to be abit verbose and pretentious. I find Games(TM) to be the best magazine, with sister publication Retrogamer the perfect companion. I buy those 2 every month, even if it cost me $20/month.

Gonna get Condemned 2 sometime this weekend. i really liked the first one and I cannot get enough of 1st person combat games like Breakdown and Riddick.

Edge has some really good features but their reviews tend to do more posturing rather than actually telling you what is fun about the game. It's like the neogaf approved magazine for game snobs.

I can generally deal without having the F-bomb dropped that often because it takes away from the word itself but scary is ok.
