I don't think I've ever played the Galaxy Force games, but since this is cheap I may still pick it up.
Dammit. What we really need is a US-released series of Model 2 and Model 3 compilations. I would pay good money for these. And, no, I won't hold my breath.

At least the SMS one has the overhead scenes, even though you can't change altitude. This part and the boss scenes aren't choppy at all. I have a feeling 2 different teams may have worked on these.
The cave scenes in STB seem to have harsher collision detection than the arcade one. After full-throttling it through caves in the arcade TB, I often find myself having to brake in STB.
PC Engine's version of Thunder Blade is actually IMO better than STB.

I played the PCE Thunderblade recently, too. Choppy as fuck but still smoother and better than the Genesis one, and more faithful, too.
I agree. The perspective effect on the buildings in stage 1's overhead section is terrible, but it plays smoothly otherwise. The chase-view scenes are decent.
Out Run on PCE isn't too far off from the Genesis one, even if it uses only 4 Meg. Meg count isn't everything. The music may lack a bit compared to the Genesis, but it's pretty close.
One thing I hate about Out Runners on Genesis is that you can only play in split-screen mode against a CPU rival. It would've been better to keep it full screen and maybe even nix the 2P mode totally.

This game is out today in Tokyo and I purchased. It looks stunning! A million miles away from the awful Saturn version. Instant purchase.
