Thread: Ghost Squad (Finally!)

Really? I didn't know that. I have a Franky's card with some cash on it I think. I go up there with some buds once in a while and terrorize the go kart track, I am King of the Shamrock.

  2. I played one quick game with the Perfect Shot, and it makes this game alot better. I was able to shoot more accurately and get to the 3rd boss on my first try. The Perfect Shot is awesome, I will probably get another.

  3. That's really good news. I have 2 Perfect Shot guns on their way and I won't open GS until they get here.

  4. kingoffighters & Glass Joe- Thanks for the heads up on the Perfect Shot. I'll have to get one, esp. since I read that the trigger on the PS is better than the one on the Wii Zapper. A few times, I've had the Wii Zapper trigger jam up and fire a couple unwanted extra shots- putting a slight ding against my accuracy.

Losing accuracy can suck big time, especially if you end up in the lower bracket and get only a few thousand. Great accuracy can get you a few ten-thousands (i.e. 30K-40K).

    Finished in 2021: 8 games (PC: 4, PS4: 2, PS3: 1, X1: 1)

  5. After the ingame calibration, I was shooting the lights out with PS. And no problem with the trigger at all and you can still install the nunchuck with this accessory, but you just have to hold it with your other hand (which is not a problem with the PS being so compact and gunlike).

  6. In Mission 3, when you're at the three huts getting ready to save Steve McCoy: You may NOT want to choose the hut where the smoke is coming from- you save Steve if you go there but it's not counted as an Event.

Pick one of the other two, and if it turns out to be the right one- there's a Hand-to-Hand combat event, so you can double the Event Clear bonus once more. The other hut has a zonk prize- 2 soldiers to gun down, one hostage, and no Event. I finished M3 with 80,000 for the Event Clear Bonus (find and pass all 5 events in a mission).

This last time, I got about 712K for the game using mission levels 4/4/4 and the M4E (A good one if you like a lot of Double Downs).

    Finished in 2021: 8 games (PC: 4, PS4: 2, PS3: 1, X1: 1)

I received the Nyko Perfect shot from an Amazon seller today, here are my impressions:

The feel of it is nice and lightweight. Not having wires is a huge plus. Also, the Wii's vibration gives it a nice recoil effect, much better than you feel with the Zapper. The only downside is that the grip is a little wide for my hand, and the handle isn't contoured all that well, so it's not as comfortable as my Guncon 1. It is lighter, however, so it doesn't tire the hand as easily.

I played some Ghost Squad with it, and it actually took some getting used to since I have been using the Wii zapper so much. With the zapper I pretty much aimed with the reticle, not with the gun. With the Perfect Shot you can aim like a true gun again ignoring the reticle. If you had never played it with a wiimote/zapper, this probably would be a non-issue. With the reticle turned off I still can't play as well as I can with it on, but using a weapon with semi-auto fire helps the aiming quite a bit.

The only thing that the Zapper still excels at is comfort to me. The handle is smaller for my little girl hands, and you can rest it like a stock against your chest/shoulder for extended game sessions to keep your hand from tiring. For individual games though, I'll definately use the Perfect Shot as my weapon of choice for its speed and accuracy.

I can't wait to use this thing with HOTD2. I can pick up another Perfect Shot and finally be able to play it with two guns at once at home.

On the topic of Ghost Squad itself, do you ever get tired of the game? I'm not sure what it is, but I've played it constantly for a week and never seem to tire of it. I've already played it more than any other gun game I have, with the exception of HOTD2 in the arcade.

  8. I haven't played my copy of Ghost Squad yet but I've used the Perfect Shot with Resident Evil:UC and I know what you are talking about. I have pretty large hands and the grip on the Perfect Shot is surprisingly large. I'm not even sure how my wife can use it since she has tiny hands. I do think it is excellent though and anyone interested should definitely get one.

  9. My Perfect Shot is on the way and should arrive Monday/Tuesday-ish, at which point I'll finally open my copy of Ghost Squad. I haven't done anything light-gun-ish in well over a year, so I'm looking forward to it.

Make sure you do the ingame calibration in GS, it makes a huge difference in accuracy.
