    Opinions wanted

    Not that I have money for them at the moment but I'm interested in opinions on these games from people here that have played them.


    Hyper Force (Jag)

    Ruiner Pinball (Jag) - How does it compare to other non-realistic pinball games like Devil's Crush?

    The Neverhood (PC) - I know Frogacuda's a fan. Has anyone got the demo to work in XP?

    Napple Tale (DC) - Is this too text-heavy for non-Japanese readers to enjoy?

    Rainbow Islands Revolution (DS)

    Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru (SS)

    Under the Skin (PS2)

    Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales (DS)

    Way of the Samurai 2 (PS2) - I'm a big fan of the first game but it seems many consider this worse.

  2. Hyper Force has decent graphics but feels dated. Lots of running around and flipping switches to open gates kind of gameplay. Definitely not the best on the Jag but it's another console exclusive and is at least somewhat unique. Plus I designed the manual for it

    Ruiner Pinball is fun but I never really got into it the way I did other "video" pinball games. I actually prefer Pinball Fantasies over it on the Jag but I know some people swear by it.

    Absolutely amazing game. A must play IMO. Not sure about it working on XP though.

    I played it when I didn't understand a lick of japanese. It's still fun, but you really need a faq to get around.

  4. <3 The Neverhood. I think I played it just fine on my XP machine but my memory's a little hazy.

  5. Just Cause (360)
    Fun stunt moves, and gorgeous from the sky (where you'll be spending much of your time), but side missions are limited to liberation gunfights, and the main missions didn't strike me as varied. On foot combat isn't as good as Mercenaries or Crackdown. Only played the Xbox version and the 360 demo.

    You could probably get a good idea just fucking around with the demo a bit.

  6. yeah its a decent sandbox game but it couldn't hold my attention. Parachuting is awesome though.

    A very relaxing and pleasant game to play. You'll need to refer to the faq for some of the town bits, but it's worth it just to see/hear the ending.

    As stated before, you will need a FAQ. I hated the fugly ass 3D running around scenes, too. They should've ripped them out and made it a straight platformer.

    Rainbow Islands Revolution (DS)
    Only played Bubble Bobble DS, and it sucked ass. I heard the Rainbow Islands one was of similar turdness.

    Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru (SS)
    I really like it. Great atmosphere, not too hard. I have a no-miss video posted on super-play.co.uk if you want to see it in action.

  9. Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru (SS)
    It's not what the Western press originally made it out to be. It is a slow and methodical action game with Alisia Dragoon like play that can be quite challenging. I originally bought it on release before the news came out that Time Warner was going under and only like 10,000 were made. After selling my collection years ago, I did end up buying it again recently.

  10. Hyper Force (Jag) - Haven't played this in a long time. I remember liking it at the time, but I would be surprised if it's aged poorly.

    The Neverhood (PC) Never tried the demo, but the proper game works great in XP. I've said enough praise about this game already.

    Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru (SS) Good, but not great. Lots of bosses, got a strong Treasure influence. Not worth the ridiculous ebay prices, of course, but a neat game all the same.
