Their = Church of Christ, thus a single body made up of multiple people. He was using their in reference to the multiple people making up the christian religion and having THEIR god smite us :P Their one god.

Yes, because regardless of whether or not that god is everyone's god, Mech was saying it in respect to the church's respective god. The god they believe in may or may not be the actual god of this world (I am defining their god as by their beliefs of his wants, obviously if there's one god, there's one god).
