Newer video cards can't run DX9?

  3. No those video's were made with two different specs, and two different times. The first Dx9 jungle video came out around the begining of last year.

yeah they can. he was asking if only the OS were different. the gpu would have to be differnet between rigs as well since a dx9 card cannot obviously run anything in dx10 mode.

Boy you're dumb. A DX10 card could obviously run both of those tests. Hence it might be the same rig. The GPU doesn't have to be different.

snap, i wasn't thinking correctly. don't have to get all bunched.

  7. Finally watched these videos. Makes me believe the DX10 hype, at least as far as making new effects possible goes. I gotta say the DX9 version still looks excellent, but the volumetric lighting, smoke effects, etc really look amazing in the DX10 version.

  8. Ok, I have Vista up and running, now. Fun fact: Turning the Aero Glass interface on in Vista makes me drop about 8-9fps in Lost Planet. At least it's optional.

  9. I really like Aero, too. You'd think they'd give an option to automatically disable it whenever you fullscreen a game.

Microsoft tells you what you want. Stop thinking for yourself.
