It's official remake month, and I am buying three of them.

  4. PQ2: Practical Intelligence Quotient (PSP, D3): 9.5, 7.5, 9
I think that qualifies as the WTF of the month for me. The first one was a thoroughly meh puzzle game.

Senko no Ronde is one of those games that has huge variance in its reviews. One reviewer could rate it a 9 while the next one rates it a 3. (The three reviews on metacritic have it at 80, 50, and 35 -- although whoever wrote the latter review came off as utterly clueless). I can see the problem though: the game is fairly bare-bones and utilitarian in design, and the price point is whack as most of the people buying it will play it casually and there isn't enough content for them (the people who would play the game competetively would have a steal at $40, $60, or $100). It's a very niche game and a lot of people who think the game would be targeted at them (fighter fans and shooter fans) are going to be put off.

Also lawl at Odin Sphere being the game of the month. In a way this kills me to say it, but the game isn't as good as RE4 or Ninja Gaiden (Black/Sigma/whatever). I'm guessing they did it to try to promote more original games with high production values, but whoever designed the game has not played an action game in the last ten years.

  5. Remakes unless the content added is significant enough, should never be considered game of the month.

I thought exactly the same thing. Add Tomb Raider to the list of games that are better too.

    Let me guess:

    Resident Evil 4 (Wii, Capcom): 8, 9, 9
    Ninja Gaiden Sigma (PS3, Tecmo): 9, 9, 8
    Tomb Raider Anniversary (PS2, Eidos): 8.5, 8.5, 8

I would buy NGS if I have a PS3 (but not high on my list), but TRA just doesn't interest me. RE4 is a maybe, depending on price (29.99 is a definite).

You really went out on a limb there, since Final Fantasy was the only other choice.

  9. I misread your post Yoshi, but Sim City DS is also a remake no?

  10. That's the FFT Remake right?

If so: you've never read a Yoshi post on the subject.
