Oh stop. 'Stuffed with chemicals'. This is what bothers me. People have no clue what's in their food and fear chemical names. Here's a pop quiz: What has over 2000 different chemicals in it, including the following:
2,4-decadienal, ethylgujacol, 2-ethyl-3,5-dimethylpyrazine, 2-ethyl-3,6-dimethylpyrazine, 2,4-nonadienal, methylsallicate, beta-damascenone, isovalderhyde, a-ionone, linalool, quinic acid, chlorogenic acid, mono and di-esters of 3-substituted 4-hydroxycinnamic acid, non-acidic quinolactones.
Answer: It's coffee. And the kicker is we have no idea how most of those chemicals affect the human body.
Point I'm trying to make is just because potassium sorbate isn't as friendly sounding as wheat flour doesn't mean it's bad for you. And to respond to that chowhound link, tumeric oleoresin is literally tumeric suspended in vegetable oil, sorbic acid is found naturally in several kinds of fruit and sodium phosphate is completely safe and used primarily in cheese preparations.
