Disagree. SC3 looks muddy. They tried to jam too much detail into it, and the result isn't as nice and streamlined as SC.

Nevermind that it's a worse game in general.

  6. I agree that SC3 is a little grainy, but it's definitely a better looking game. Looking "clean" only goes so far, there's just so much more artisticaly in SC3.

I'm still not sure why people consider SC3 an inferior title. I recall Dipstick or someone giving some very specific examples of moves or frames or something that seemed imbalanced, but it was stuff that never came up in my very competitive play group, and I'm not even sure that it can't be played-around on a tournament level. Even so, I'm not sure why everyone else dislikes it; I think they just heard someone else say it sucks and jumped on the bandwagon.

Going back and playing SC1, while still great, feels basic in comparison.

  7. I enjoyed 3 quite a bit actually, and greatly look forward to 4. Hopefully they add more to the custom characters though.

  8. I think the "basic" is what draws me to it (SC1). SC3 feels needlessly complicated, though as a matter of personal bias, I think they just took it in a direction I didn't want like, what with the create-a-character mode and new "fluff" characters.

Old characters feel busted to a degree, also. (further still from SC2)

From what I read it practically ended the SC tournament scene, so take that for what you will. Granted, it's only something I read through a series of tubes so also take that part as you will.

Because they took my favorite character and butchered her in ways that felt needless as they were too lazy to make up a new movelist for an introductory character. Yeah, they added some cool stuff, but how often do fighting games take away moves in direct sequels?

Really, the whole game felt off, like something wasn't quite right. It was still good and had the hilarious create-a-character mode, but I think it was also the shortest-lived major fighting game in my household.
