I love making characters, but I never really use them. Call me old fashioned but I like using the staple cast for online and vs. stuff.

Anyone want to play a few tonight or tomorrow? I'm trying to learn Hilde but the going is slow. I want to implement that d-pad mod Josh talks of, but can't find the how-to for the life of me.

That's one reason I like the custom characters using default character styles, you can switch back-and-forth without re-learning anything. They make it clear playing online which style you're playing against, no matter what your opponent came up with aesthetically.

I'm up for some games Hero. I used to only know how to play a couple characters, but now a few more in the rotation, so playing in a lobby is a bit more fun (versus playing Ranked match, which is a different sort of frustrating fun).

Buy some sandpaper and a star screwdriver. Open the controller and remove the d-pad. Sand down the inside circular edge that holds the d-pad to about half its default thickness. Reassemble the controller. Be happy.

This thread prompted me to fix my controller...no one in the area has the proper Torx T8H bits to remove the wireless 360 pad screws, so I just took a knife and scraped out that ring a bit. Certainly not very graceful, but there is a marked improvement in the pad responsiveness, especially when double-tapping.

So my friend brings by SCIV for ps3 and I play it and love it. The only problem I had with it is playing online whenever you wanted just a random match not matter if it was ranked or player it said it was full. Has anyone run into this on the 360 version? That right there is going to decided on what version I get. Even tho I'm leaning to the ps3 version just because of the controller.

I picked up the PS3 version last week. I'm awful at it! If anyone wants to play the ps3 version, my psn name is above (though i dont have a headset right now).

If you mean its full when selecting Quick Match, then yes, it happens from time to time on 360 as well. The best thing to do (in player match at least - not sure about ranked) is to create a session and set it to only 2 players. Someone will join in a few seconds, and you dont have to wait and watch other people play if you lose.

Im absolutely in love with this game, and ive sort of re-discovered the seires because of it. I just ordered Soul Blade - I always wanted that game. The online in IV seems to be ironed out as I rarely experience lag anymore. My custom made Pope character is a freaking monster.

Creating a session in ranked works best too. The only time I Quick Match is when I get stuck in a loop of the same person joining over and over.
