You're right, they can't redo it. Imagine the subway scene in an Indian setting? All of the people clinging to the sides and roof of the cars would violently be thrown off.
Not really. Obviously, Spidey has travelled to an impoverished part of the world, donning blackface to further blend in. He sees a carload of Asians doing their best "Let's move to America" Mexican impression that are about to run over an innocent family of ducklings. Throwing caution(and body maintenance) to the wind, he whips off his mask and jumps in front of the menace barrelling down upon the fowl. He stops the vehicle just in time, much to the dismay of the passengers on the drivers side who wanted the ducks for soup.
I'm not a devious man by nature... but when you're unarmed, your tactics might gonna be downright Archimedean.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Yes, I was severely disappointed with SPIDER-MAN 3 just like 98% of you guys were. It's one of those movies that just seemed to be off-key, missing every note by a few seconds.
But you gotta give Sam Raimi credit for what he did with the first two. Of the three films, I like SPIDER-MAN, but I love SPIDER-MAN 2.
According to Nikki Finke at DeadlineHollywood, Sony has locked in both Raimi and Tobey Maguire for SPIDER-MAN 4. There are a few reasons this could happen like this. Remember both were walking away from the flick.
They either had dumptrucks of money backed up to their door or they were both using this as a means to get something more out of the series. Maybe that something more is money, but I'd like to hope that Raimi is would decide to come back only if he's offered more freedom. We all know Venom was forced on him and I think that is what primarily derailed Spider-Man 3.
Then there's the third part to all this: Jamie Vanderbilt's screenplay. Maybe it's fucking amazing. Maybe that got both Maguire and Raimi to reconsider walking away from the series.
Finke's source also tells her that Sony is seriously considering doing 4 and 5 back to back in order to ensure the same creative team and save on costs. A release date of 2011 is looking likely for Spidey 4.
As far as the villain, the source wouldn't say, only that when we hear who the villain is, we'll know who'll be playing it. Lizard anybody?
Anyway, I love the idea of a fresh set of eyes on this series, but Raimi has earned one slip up... at least for me, so I can't complain if he comes back, especially if he has a little more power to do what he wants.
I'd love it if the next flick is Lizard and he shoots it a little like he shot his horror movies. We saw a glimpse of that in SPIDER-MAN 2 during the Doc Ock operation scene. Imagine if that style was done throughout the film.
What are your thoughts?
Honestly, I'm a little disappointed. I think Rami has run his course with the series and I was really hoping for someone new.

Part of me wanted someone new, Part of me didn't. But I really want the movie company to stay out of his film.
I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
I liked Spider-man 3, but I only saw it once in theatres so that's not an accurate gauge (just about anything can pass muster and be fun at the theatres when it comes out, the experience gives it a boost). I need to pick up the DVD sometime and give it a few repeated viewings to be sure.
Still I would be very pleased to see Raimi and Maguire back on board for one or two more movies. They've done great stuff with the character. There could be a drop-off with someone new, ex. X-Men 3.

I'm all for Sam and Tobey to come back. Its WAY to early to get a new lead actor for Spidey and it just wouldnt feel the same without Sam. I think the studio had more to do with Spidey 3 not being amazing than Sam.
Xbox Live- SamuraiMoogle
You can almost pinpoint the studio fuck ups in that movie, all the stuff with sand man was pretty well done, and everything with the venom and the black suit in general was horrible. Harry though, that one might fall on sammy.
I actually kind of enjoyed the parts with Sandman in them. His special effects were really cool.
