Issues with the source material doesn't excuse those same issues being in a film, unless those same issues are somehow tied to the story in a way that can't be changed without ruining it altogether.

The desperation is to get in on the money train before everyone gets tired of these movies
I know, I'm just saying they're no worse than the source material in this case.
I like comic book movies because they tend to do a self-contained story and it doesn't drag out nothing happening for years with individual monster of the week stories and no one ever Dies For Real, as things get progressively stupider. What's going on right now is neat and all but getting super close to why I stopped reading mainstream comics in the first place. Having a standalone Venom movie and then one where him and Spider-Man team up to fight Sinister Six could be an okay thing. Or it'll end up like the stuffing way-too-many villains at once that Spider-Man 3 had, which I think ASM2 is going to run into (it might be alright but I feel like it says something that 2/3 of the villains had nothing to offer the trailer besides CG fights and dumb one-liners).

Easily 3 and arguably half of those movies could have been nixed, and the story of Avengers would not have suffered.
They're clearing milking the fad. Eight movies in five years is Activision numbers.
