Maybe, but Thanos has to eventually get the gem into the gauntlet, which seems like it would require killing him. (And not just in the sense that he'd die trying to keep it out of Thanos' hands, but more in the sense that he literally couldn't live without it.)

Because Thanos would just destroy the sun to get the crystal. its actually pretty safe with vision. Until thanos show up. Thanos routinely beats teh shit out of the Hulk, with out the gauntlet. so watching Thanos rip that crystal out of Visions head is will be great.

Thing is, in the og series, Nebula is the one that gets teh gauntlet away from him. this is after they kill everyone in teh universe like 10 times or some shit. im wondering how teh Celestials will factor into this(the big thign destroying the planet in GotG) Because when thanos gets the Gauntlet, the Watcher, galactus, the celestials and everything else goes after him and gets the shit kicked out of them.

Two follow up questions. One serious, one even more serious.

1) What if like one dude took the stones to some backwater place without telling anyone else or documenting it in any way, did it without being tracked, dug a bunch of holes on the planet, buried them, then pulled the self-destruct lever on his ship once he was a good distance from the planet? Do they give off a "signature" that would be obvious ("Holy crap there's a lot of Infinitychlorians there!") or would someone be able to figure out what the dude did?

Short version is that it doesn't matter. No matter what someone does there's always someone on a higher plane that can see/identify/turn back time to get them back. In the Marvel universe, the very concept of existence is a personified dude that can check out what's going on inside himself. Normal logic has literally almost no place once you start getting up to guys the level of Thanos and above.

Remember, his goal in life is to go on a date with the stacked personification of death itself. Our rules don't apply there.
